Talk:Pygmy owl
Appearance
Wingspan
[edit]The article states that pygmy owls typically have a "wing span of about 86 to 105 mm". Unless they're the size of dragonflies (and relatively small ones at that!) this can't possible be right. Should it be cm? Pburka (talk) 02:03, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thinking about it further, 105 cm also seems dubious. If the maximum body length is 19 cm, a 105 cm wingspan seems quite long. Pburka (talk) 19:40, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
- I've removed all discussion of the size (and distribution) of the species. It was all unreferenced and clearly much of it was incorrect. Pburka (talk) 03:42, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Chestnut owlet is not in the list
[edit]Why is no there a Chestnut owlet (Glaucidium castaneum)? --SanoAK (talk) 15:39, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- It's fourth from the last in the list. Pburka (talk) 16:06, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thank You for help, but no, both are different species Chestnut-backed owlet and Chestnut owlet. --SanoAK (talk) 16:44, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
- Oops. The similarity of both the English and Latin names misled me. Pburka (talk) 16:49, 24 November 2018 (UTC)
